Iris Greenberger has been working as a financial writer and editor for more than 18  years. Born and raised in New York City, Iris graduated cum laude from Barnard College, Columbia University, with a major in Economics. She earned an MBA in Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business. 

Before beginning her writing career, Iris worked as a fed funds broker at Mabon Nugent and on the trading/syndication desk at regional municipal bond firm Lebenthal & Co., where she received her Series 7 (General Securities Representative) license. 

Iris began working as a financial writer for Dean Witter’s unit investment trust department, and later held a variety of marketing communications writing positions for MetLife’s group insurance marketing and mutual fund areas, as well as for the mutual fund departments at Salomon Smith Barney, Deutsche Asset Management and American Century Investments. She also worked as a financial editor for Bear Stearns’ corporate marketing department, where she interacted with all areas of the firm, including capital markets and wealth management.  

Conversant in Italian and French, Iris lives in New York City and practices yoga in her free time. She is a member of the New York Financial Writers’ Association.
